Virginia Harding Moderates Panel on "Dollars and Sense of Green"
Virginia Harding, Of Counsel at Gould & Ratner LLP, participated in a panel presentation entitled "Dollars and Sense of Green" presented by the Chicago Real Estate Council (CREC) on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the East Bank Club, Chicago. Ms. Harding was the panel moderator.
Ms. Harding has been a member of Gould & Ratner's Real Estate Group since 1975. She has in-depth experience representing the developers of master planned communities, beginning with site acquisition through sell-out. She has handled transactions for many of the national builders and developers in the Chicago metropolitan market. As a land developer's attorney, she is familiar with the annexation, zoning and land planning processes and has handled innovative financing transactions for water, waste water and other infrastructure improvement projects. Ms. Harding has given numerous presentations to a wide range of audiences, co-authors a monthly column in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and is active in many legal and real estate organizations.
Panelists included Harry West, Director, HUD Office of Affordable Housing Preservation, Anne Evans, Director at CNT Energy, and Tina Haubert, Vice President, Jones Lang LaSalle, who joined Ms. Harding in a discussion of who is going green and why; costs and problems associated with going green; what works and what doesn't; and whether the economic downturn has moved "Green" off the program or has brought it to center stage.
