Gould & Ratner LLP is pleased to announce that David H. Hoeppner, Ammara Hashmi and Herschel M. Joseph have joined the firm as associate attorneys in the firm’s Corporate Practice.

Hoeppner, who earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, represents clients in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, with a focus on representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and commercial agreements, including on behalf of private equity funds, venture capital funds and their portfolio companies.

Hashmi focuses her practice on corporate law matters, assisting individuals and businesses with legal entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and business structuring/planning opportunities.

After earning her J.D. from Case Western University School of Law, Hashmi worked in Big Four consulting with Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she took part in large M&A transactions ranging from millions to billions of dollars, as well as assisting with structuring, reorganizations, tax planning and tax controversy issues from both a federal and a state perspective.

Joseph routinely works on private equity transactions, as well as a variety of other corporate matters. He earned his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law and before joining the firm, Joseph was a tax associate at Deloitte, where he performed tax research across each client's business operations to create strategies for reducing tax liabilities through a combination of state and local credits, incentives and restructuring opportunities.
