Current Form I-9 Will Expire At the End of August 2019

The I-9 Form, used to verify employment eligibility, is set to expire August 31, 2019.

Although the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is working to update the form, there will likely be a gap between the expiration of the old form and the implementation of the new one. USCIS has not filed an updated form with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), but past practice indicates that until they do, employers should continue to use the old version.

Employers can monitor the status of the OMB’s approval forms on its website.
