Brian Gilbert, Chair of Gould & Ratner’s Corporate Practice, was interviewed by a prominent private wealth manager on current trends in middle-market mergers and acquisitions.

Gould & Ratner sponsored the Chicago Estate Planning Council’s Mar. 4th workshop via webinar. The workshop, Administering Your First Estate, provided the attendees with a comprehensive overview of estate administration, including proper asset valuation and distribution, taxation, and account closing procedures.

Ilana Bley moderated the last installment of a CEPC fundamentals course on Feb. 17. This course called Putting It All Together tied together the prior four sessions and walked attendees through case studies illustrating the practical application and integration of concepts introduced in the first four sessions.  In particular, hypotheticals focused on integrating planning, considering reporting for wealth transfer, and applying fiduciary income tax concepts.

Matthew Goldfarb, an associate attorney in Gould & Ratner’s Corporate Practice, has been nominated to the America-Israel Chamber of Commerce Chicago (AICC) board of directors. Fred Tannenbaum, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice is also an active participant in AICC and serves as both first Vice President and head of the Nominating Committee.

Linsey Cohen, chair of Gould & Ratner’s Real Estate Practice, was recognized as one of 50 real estate professionals to be inducted into Midwest Real Estate News’ (MREN) 2020 Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame.

Gould & Ratner is pleased to announce that three attorneys have been selected as 2021 Illinois Super Lawyers. Each year, no more than five percent of Illinois lawyers receive this honor. In addition, five attorneys have been named Illinois Rising Stars, which awards lawyers who are under 40 and practicing fewer than 10 years. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor each year.
