Corporate Practice Welcomes Robert Chidester

Gould & Ratner is pleased to announce that Robert C. Chidester joins the firm as an associate in its Corporate Practice.

Chidester provides strategic counsel to investment firms and businesses on a range of corporate matters, including capital raises, securities issuances, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial contracts. He also regularly serves as an outside general counsel, advising on both complex transactions and routine operational matters.

Chidester has extensive experience working on matters pertaining to strategic intellectual property assets. He has successfully represented clients on transactions involving private equity and venture capital investments in technology companies, intellectual property acquisitions/divestments and international patent registration strategies.

Chidester previously served as a financial and policy analyst with the U.S. Department of Energy's Laboratory System. There, he evaluated energy technology research and energy infrastructure projects in China and Northeast Asia. He maintains his involvement in the energy industry, and many of his clients are in the energy and “clean technology” space.

Chidester earned his J.D. from University of Colorado Law School and a bachelor's degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA.
