Jacob Dodds advises clients on the tax aspects of complex estate planning and transactions, entity planning, and business restructurings. He brings a deeply technical background in strategic tax planning, helping clients navigate sophisticated tax issues with precision, responsiveness, and a strong commitment to getting the job done.
Before joining Gould & Ratner, Jake was a manager in the national tax practice at EY, where he concentrated on highly technical aspects of tax planning. In that role, he prepared private letter rulings, drafted tax opinions, conducted tax diligence, and advised on tax-free spin-offs and reorganizations. He also provided tax diligence and structuring services in connection with acquisitions involving private equity sponsors and strategic buyers.
Earlier in his career, Jake was an associate in the mergers and acquisitions tax group at KPMG, where he advised on tax diligence and structuring for domestic and cross-border transactions and worked on complex partnership tax issues.
